Description
This handwritten letter, dated May 15, 1943, is written from W. N. Bogan Jr. in St. Petersburg, Florida where he is stationed for training to his mother, Catherine F. Bogan in West Point, Mississippi. The letter informs her that he was moved to another training group at a different hotel but otherwise remains in St. Petersburg. The letter goes on to describe what the new hotel is like, what he will be assigned to after basic training, what his test scores were, and how proud he is of the work he is doing outside of basic training. The letter is written on Army Air Forces Technical Training Command stationary with the logo of gold wings over a silver and red star within a blue circle in the center. The envelope is postmarked St. Petersburg, Florida, May 16, 1943.
