Description

This handwritten letter, dated May 17, 1943, is written from W. N. Bogan Jr. in St. Petersburg, Florida where he is stationed for training to his father in West Point, Mississippi. The letter discusses the weather in St. Petersburg, his camp assignments, his classification assignment, and how he was too tired to use his pass. The letter is written on Army Air Forces Technical Training Command stationary with the logo of gold wings over a silver and red star within a blue circle in the center. The envelope is postmarked twice. The first postmark is St. Petersburg, Florida, May 19, 1943 when the letter was originally sent. The second postmark is for Baton Rouge, May 22, 1943 where the letter was forwarded to West Point, Mississippi.
