Description
In this letter, dated February 7, 1847, Obett Sernt writes to John L. McMauran to propose a settlement of debts owed him from an estate McMauran is in charge of. The proposal includes the management and eventual ownership of the Prospect Hill Plantation, the disbursement of enslaved persons, and a crop of corn.
