A sepia toned photograph of a bear within an iron barred enclosure at the St. Louis zoo in 1890 as indicated by the handwritten note in pencil beneath the image. The bear is standing on two legs with his top paws braced agains the iron bars of his enclosure. This photograph was originally included on a scrapbook page.
