Description
This color postcard features the lily pond view of exterior of the belfry wing of the former Inn-by-the-Sea with palm trees and other landscaping. The title along the bottom reads "U. S. Merchant Marine Cadet Basic School, Pass Christian, Miss." The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides publisher information as well as indication for postage stamp and address placement. The card is postmarked Harrison Miss. May 11, 1943. The stamp box is marked through and "Free" is written above it. The card is dated "May 11, 1943" in the upper right and the description in the upper left reads "U. S. Merchant Marine Cadet Basic School--Pass Christian, Miss." The card is inscribed and is addressed to Mr. John A. Sisak in Cleveland, Ohio. "2--" is written in pencil in the upper right.

Dear Pal: Received your letter dated the 4th. I go to school from 3-9pm. another class from 11:30A.M. to 12:30P.M. aircraft [illegible] Played only one game of golf. Not much time to anything. [sic] Have to study and read a lot. Happy birthday. A little late though. Like it here. Sure learn a lot in a short time. Am going to apply for cadet training about a month before I finish this school. Yours truly: Edward P. S. Thanks for the letter. From Pfc. Edward J. [?] Gulfport Field, Miss. (P.S) No Girls
