Description
This color postcard features the lagoon at Holly Bluff Gardens surrounded by trees and landscaping. A man in a hat is depicted standing on a small bridge. The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard. A purple three cent Statue of Liberty postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner and the card is postmarked Gulfport, Mississippi Jun. 20, 1956. "1.50" is written in pencil between the postmark and stamp. The description in the upper left reads "The beautiful lagoon at Holly Bluff Garden is surrounded by colorful azaleas, camellias and other native flowers and shrubs at this Mississippi Gulf Coast beauty spot. Ektachrome by C. Hinman". The card is inscribed and addressed to The Ben Longs in Toledo, Ohio.
Transcription
Hello: the Gulf Coast is beautiful. We drove over to Biloxi yesterday. We're visiting different spots over the state so we're on the go all time. [sic] Keeping on schedule tho [sic] so will be leaving for home next Mon. or Tues. Mrs. Ammons, Mary and Carly.
