Description

This color postcard features a statue of a man on a white stone base. Trees and a building are behind the statue. The title along the top of the card reads "Statue of Captain Joseph T. Jones, Gulfport, Miss.--80" The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides publisher information as well as indication for postage stamp placement. The description in the upper left reads "Statue of Captain Joseph T. Jones--Oil Producer--Penn. and W. Virginia. Whose vision, courage and indomitable energy made possible the construction of the Gulf and Ship Island Railroad and the City and Harbor of Gulfport, Mississippi."
