Description

This color postcard features the interior of a church with stained glass windows, wooden pews, chandeliers, and a domed ceiling over the alter. A confederate flag is draped over the back pew. The title in the bottom center of the card reads "Interior of Historic Church of the Redeemer, Biloxi, Miss." The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides publisher information as well as indication for postage stamp placement. The description in the upper left reads "In this church, Jefferson Davis, the President of the Confederate States of America worshipped. The pew that has the flag of The Confederate States draped over is the very pew occupied by Jefferson Davis. This is still done to commemorate his memory."
