This color postcard features an image of the buildings of the Great Southern Hotel as it backs up to the Gulf of Mexico. An inset image of a woman in an early twentieth century dress holding flowers in a field. The title beneath the image of the hotel identifies the scene as "Gulf of Mexico and Great Southern Hotel, Gulfport, Mississippi". An inscription is written in the white space below the hotel image. The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard-postal card--carte postal and provides indication for address placement. A green one cent postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner and the card is postmarked for Mapleclen and Three Tunes, Pennsylvania, May 28, 1906. The card is addressed to Miss Laura Fry in Three Tuns, Pennsylvania.
