This color postcard features three men on a golf course. Two of the men are wearing light colored pants with sweaters and ties while standing near a yard marker. The third man is wearing dark clothing and a hat while pushing a lawn mower. An inscription is written at the top and bottom of the card. The title along the bottom of the card identifies the scene as "Great Southern Golf Club, Gulfport, Miss." The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard. A green one cent postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner and the card is postmarked Gulfport, Mississippi July 25, 1936. The description in the upper left of the card describes the golf course as "The Great Southern Golf Club. An eighteen hole course open to the public the year round. The only course on the Mississippi Coast that borders on the Gulf of Mexico. Velvety greens and beautiful fairways." The card is inscribed and is addressed to Miss Zula Liner in Hillsboro, Texas.
[ back of the postcard] Thursday Hayne has just left for Shelby. A rain here this morning delayed him. They returned with N. O. with a new car. So we've really been enjoying the coast. We explored the Edge Water Gulf Hotel last night. I's wonderful! I've decided to join the Presbyterian Church here on Sunday. Later on will transfer to Shelby-- [front of the card, ontinued from the back] The pastors name is Brown--The church is just a half block away. Yes, the [?] are showing weakness. Betty Ramer is arriving Saturday from Fondren. Love, Anna.
