Description

This color postcard features the Grotto at St. Augustine's Seminary in Bay St. Louis, Miss. The grotto features a stone structure with an inset statue of the Virgine Mary, a brook or stream coming from the structure, spanish moss hung trees and other green landscaping. The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides publisher information as well as indication for postage stamp placement. The description in the top left corner reads "An institution for the Education and Training of Colored Young Men for the Holy Priesthood and the Religious Brotherhood. 1920-1945"
