This is an official post card of the Mississippi Centennial Exposition featuring the Coliseum, built in the same architectural style as all the exposition buildings--a long, two story structure with towers on each corner of the front. Flags fly from the roof of the towers. flower-lined walkways and a narrow inground pool lead up to the building. The title at the top of the card notes the exposition was supposed to last from Dec. 10, 1917 to June 10, 1918. The title identifying the Coliseum is printed at the bottom edge of the card. An inscription is written across the top of the image. The back of the postcard is addressed to Mr. John Vrisband in Magnolia, Mississippi. The card is postmarked Jackson, August 10, 1920 and a red, two cent George Washington postage stamp is placed upside down in the upper right corner. An inscription is written on the left half of the card. [see transcription field]
