Description

This postcard features a color illustration of the interior lobby and lounge of the Edgewater Gulf Hotel in Edgewater Park, Mississippi. The lobby image depicts people seated in burgundy chairs and couches, floral patterned chairs and couches, and at tables. A round fireplace is in the center of the main room and floral curtains decorate the entrances between various spaces in the lobby. The title of the card is printed along the top and bottom edges of the card. The back of the postcard is addressed to Mr. J. L. Austin in Harvey, Illinois. The card is postmarked Gulfport, Miss., February 29, 1952 and the postage stamp has been removed. An advertisement for the hotel is printed at the top of the left side and an inscription is written beneath it. [see transcription field]

Dear Joe, Forgot to tell you or did I that I received your last letter the day we left New Orleans. Spent most of the day in this lobby where I wrote you. They have a fire going all day in the fireplace on this card really nice. Love Charl [sic]
