Description
This postcard features the east view of Gulfport, Mississippi as seen from an elevator with the offices, depot and tracks of the Gulf and Ship Island Railroad, the Great Southern Hotel and other Gulfport landmarks on the beachside in view, ca. 1906. The title of the card is printed beneath the bottom edge of the image. The back of the card is addressed to Miss M and J. Parks in Drew, Mississippi. An in scription is written on the left half of the card. [see transcription field]
Transcription
I hope you are all well Walter has been sick, is having chills. Mr. G. is not very well. I expect we will start for home Monday Papa and Uncle Tim are talking about going to Mobile tomorrow I hope you all have been good children and relieve grandma all you could Papa went crabbing and caught a basquet full of crabs. Love to all Mama [sic]
