Description
This postcard features a black and white image of a Pelican siting on a log after a hurricane as passed through on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The storm which is most commonly called the 1947 Fort Lauderdale hurricane but is sometimes referred to as Hurricane George, the 1947 New Orleans hurricane, or the 1947 Pompano Beach (or Broward) hurricane, struck the Gulf Coast in September 1947. The title of the card is printed along the bottom edge of the image.
