Description

This postcard features a color illustration of two tug boats being built on the shore with water in the foreground. The boats are up on scaffolding and people are depicted as standing on various parts of the scaffolding. Trees are seen behind the boats. The title of the card is printed in the upper left of the image and there is some dark smudges over it. The back of the card is addressed to Mrs. Wilbur Carver in Seneca Falls, New York. the card is postmarked Orange Grove, Mississippi, April 26, 1909. The postage stamp has been removed and some damage is visible where it had been placed in the upper right corner. An inscription is written on the left half of the card. [see transcription field]

Transcription

Orange Grove Miss. Apr. 25, 1909 Dear Friend. We made good use of gum on our trip, saw some fined country also some wild country arrived safely [and] am very busy. Work has been neglected here. Mr. Z been so busy hatching chicks has over 950. Yours [and] C. Peter Zimmer [sic]
