Description

This postcard features a color illustration of a white, three story Spanish Colonial style hotel with arched windows, a curved portico supported by four white columns, two towers on either side of the portico. The side of the hotel wraps around with a porch and second floor balcony. Trees in the lawn and at the street partially obscure portions of the hotel. The back of the card is addressed to Mrs. G. O. Clayton in New Orleans, Louisiana. the card is postmarked Pass Christian, Mississippi, June 23, 1909 and a green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is placed sideways in the upper left corner. An inscription is written sideways on the left half of the card. [see transcription field]

Transcription

Dear Mr. C We have your little daughter with us all day! You no doubt have Earls letter by now. The tain was 1/2 ahead of time [and] as it was stopping so hard we suppose they did not start until we got Earls message last evening [?] She arrived all safe. Respecfully Mrs. H. [sic]
