Description
This color postcard features a color drawing of moonlight over the water in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. The title in the bottom right corner reads "Moonlight on Bay St. Louis, Miss. and the wreck of an old light ship. Bay St. Louis, Miss." The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard. A green one cent postage stamp is in the upper right corner and the card doesn't have a postmark. The name "Clark Beggas [?]" is written in the space for the address. The description at the top left corner reads "Moonlight on Bay St. Louis, Miss. The wreckage of the old Light-ship McClellan, before the civil war known as Merrill's Shell Bank Light. This ship was originally a Gunboat owned by the Austrian Government and bought by the United States in 1812 to be used in transporting troops up the shallow rivers in Mexico."
