Description

This postcard features a sepia toned image of the Attala County Courthouse in Kosciusko, Mississippi. The image is backlit, making the details difficult to see but there appears to be a clock tower in the center of the roof and multiple chimneys. A horse and carriage appear to be parked just outside the courthouse to the left. A handwritten inscription along the bottom and up the right side reads "Well, I am still at home. Guess I will be there on Mon. Rec'd your letter and yes am burning up. LJM" The back of the postcard is addressed to Miss Emily Connell in Mayhew. The card is postmarked Aberdeen and Durant RR, June 1906 and includes a green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp in the upper right corner. The identity of the courthouse and location was provided by the donor, Dr. Lucius Marion Lampton.
