Description

This postcard features a color illustration of a German style house in Meridian, Mississippi. The house is two stories with a gabled roofline, a wrap-around porch lined by railings and supported by four thin columns. A second floor balcony on the front and side of the house is lined by short railings and the balcony door and windows have diamond frames. Decorative cross beams are on the face of the second story and chimneys are each end of the house. Bushes are on either side of the sidewalk in front of the house and child is depicted as standing on the sidewalk between them. The title of the card is printed in the upper left of the image. The back of the card is addressed to Mrs. C. B. Armistead in Bogalivea, Louisiana. The card is postmarked Meridian, Miss., June 30, 1910. An inscription is written on the left half of the card. Mama is [??] her ordeal [??] sitting fine of course is somewhat nervous but feels fine considering what she went through with your letters etc received this [?] so glad to hear from you--mama says to tell papa and the boys it is time she was hearing from them hug Chas Love to all and all well--Sister [sic] [several words are too faded to read]
