This postcard features a color illustration of the Mary Holmes' Seminary in West Point, Mississippi. The building is a large, three story, red brick building with a long, "L" shaped porch along the front and right side of the building with white railings and porch columns. Dormers are along the rood line. Several "X" marks are written on the corner porch railing indicating areas of the building spoken of in the inscription that is written on the back of the card. The title of the card is printed in red along the top of the image. [see transcription field]

Transcription

Am enclosing a card as it is a good picture of the building the chaple is marked, Dr. J preaches some good sermons in it the scholars give some fine entertainments under the teachers care The large corner room makred xx is the living room for the teachers We are often very kindly entertained in it by the Drs Some of the teachers are fine musicians. [sic]
