Description

This postcard features a black and white image of an early 20th century street with horse and buggies parked in front of the buildings that are on either side of the street. Electric power line poles are spaced along the right side of the street and a small group of people can be seen at the far end of the street.. The title of the card is printed next to the right edge of the image and an inscription is written beside the title. The inscription reads, "10/2/07 On my way to Shuqualak, Miss. LF" The back of the card is addressed to Miss Mary Harvey in Indianapolis, Indiana. The card is postmarked twice: Indianapolis, Ind., Oct. 3, 1907 and Macon, Miss., Oct 1907. A green, once cent commemorative Capt. John Smith postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner of the card.
