Description

This postcard features a color illustration of a building at the Meridian Female College in Meridian, Mississippi. The building is depicted as a four story structure or pink brick and a cream colored bell tower with a flag on top. A long sidewalk leads to the front entrance and trees are on the grounds. The image of J. W. Beeson, the college president, is in an oval in the upper left corner. The title of the card is printed beside the image of Beeson and text advertising the college is beneath the bottom edge of the image. The back of the card is addressed to Miss Irene Smith in Griffis, Kentucky. The card is postmarked Meridian, Miss., December 7, 1907 and a green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner of the card. An inscription is written on the left half of the card. [see transcription field]
