Description
This black and white postcard features a path through trees. A building is seen through the trees on the left. The title along the bottom of the card reads "Lovers' Lane --University of Mississippi." An inscription is handwritten along the right edge of the card. The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides indication for correspondence and address placement. A green one cent postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner and the card is postmarked twice, Once for University, Mississppi, September 14, 1908 and once for Livingston, Alabama, September 15, 1908. The card is inscribed and is addressed to Miss Elizabeth Scruggs in Livingston, Alabama.
Transcription
[back of the postcard] So sorry I didn't get to see you as I was leaving Cal. [?] Expected you girls at the depot till the very last or would have run by to see you. Guess you had cards from Mr. Collis as he said he was sending you some. He wants some of the Park pictures--the girls [?] will remember "Dish & slight Shorly" as they didn't like him but he was nice to them too. Coming home I met a fellow [sic] [continued on the front of the card] from Greenville who was quite nice on the train [and] helped me two while away some of the time. I go back to B. Mt. Tues. There this session our so glad. Drop me a card from Pearl.
