Description

This black and white postcard features Main Street in Aberdeen, Mississippi in the early nineteenth century. Buildings line either side of the street and horses and carriages are on the street. A gazebo is in the far end of the street, surrounded by horses. "Beautiful Aberdeen" is handwritten across the top of the card and "Main St. Aberdeen Miss" is handwritten near the bottom center. The back of the card is addressed to Miss Nell [?} in Water Valley, Mississippi, postmarked 1806. A green Benjaman Franklin one cent stamp is placed in the upper right corner.
