This black and white postcard features a two story house with bay windows on the right side, a small second floor balcony, and a porch with white posts and railing on the center and left side. A smaller bay window is above the porch and beside the balcony. A black iron fence runs along the front of the house. The handwritten title along the bottom of the card reads "Residence In Prentiss, Miss." The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides indication for correspondence and address placement. A green one cent postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner and the card is postmarked Prentiss, Mississippi, September 11, 1905. The card is inscribed and is addressed to Miss Mattie Longimo in Columbia, Missouri.
My dear Mattie:-We arrived at Silver Creek Monday [and] found all well. Mama said I had a letter there from you, she read it [and] laid it away for me [and] put it away so well she never could find it. We were awful glad to get home [and] will stay some time. Joseph goes to Florida next week [and] if he has to spend the winter there we will go later. Robert [and] his wife [and] baby, Clara [and] Shep [and] Aunt Manda went yesterday with us and we had a good time. Robert seems to be doing nicely now. Aunt Am is much better. We are at Prentiss today [and] this is a picture of Nannie's house. Will write you a letter as soon as I get time. I got me a very pretty pin with nice shape Monday he gave me [and] am so proud of it. Papa says he will take official pleasure in all during the [?] Love to all. Write. Yours, Mae. [sic]
