Description

This postcard features a black and white image of a school building on Main Street in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, a two story building with three tower style bump outs across the front, one on each end and one in the center where the entrance is located. The frame of the entrance is arched. People are seen gathered on the sidewalk and front steps that lead to the entrance. The title of the card is printed below the image and an inscription is written in the white area that surrounds the image. [see transcription field] The back of the card is addressed to Miss Fannie George in Columbus, Mississippi. The card is postmarked Hattiesburg, Miss., January 11, 1907 and a green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner.

Transcription

[left to right across the card] Hello Fannie wrote you a leter but failed to mail it so decided would wirte again real soon and tell you all the news. Walter is much better today has been real sick I think he is out of danger now with careful nursing. Write soon to you Carrie [sideways on the right edge] Will try and write you and K. B. tonight [sic] [on the grass in the image] "Hello Jackson"
