Description
This postcard features a color illustration of the buildings on Front Street in Hattiesburg, Mississippi looking north. The building on the right in the foreground is a three story building with brown stone on the first floor and red brick on the second and third floors. A sign for G. D. Benedict and Co., Yellow Pine Lumber W. L. Bassit protrudes from the above the first floor. the buildings on either side of the street vary in height and color. Utility poles line either side of the street and people and horse drawn carriages are on the street. The title of the card is printed in the upper center of the card. The back of the card is addressed to Mrs. W. W. Stebbins in Madison, Wisconsin. The card is postmarked Hattiesburg, Mississippi, January 20, 1910 and a green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner. An inscription is written on the left half of the card. [see transcription field]

129--Jackson St. Jan 19/10 Dear Mother--Just gotten settled. Have a nice room 2.00 heated and meals 25%. This is a fine place I think. Artisian Water. I am having my teeth fixed. My ear is a little better I think. Hope to hear from you soon. With love your daughter M. M. Wales [upside down along the top left edge] much love W. C. [sic]
