Description

This black and white photograph features the old, abandoned post office in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, a one story building with a hip roof, molding along beneath the roof and two, white pillar columns at the front entrance. Trees and bushes are along the left side and left corner and sconces with globe fixtures on the top flank the entrance. A utility pole and a traffic light is seen in front of the post office and two mid-twentieth century cars are parked beside the post office. An inscription on the back of the photo reads "Hattiesburg P.O. Abandoned Miss" and "1939" is written in the lower right corner.
