Description
This postcard features a black and white image of the two story, brick high school building in Brookhaven, Mississippi. White molding and rim line the top of the building, the bump outs, and the windows. The roofline has several peaks along the edges with diamond accents. Tall bushes line the front of the building and a small entrance on the left side has a covered porch. A sidewalk runs along the front of the building at the street. The title of the card is printed along the top of the card. The back of the card is addressed to Mrs. La Moine Jenkins in Wabash, Indiana. The card is postmarked Hamburg, Mississippi, July 28, 1939 and a green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner. An inscription is written on the left half of the card. [see transcription field]

Thurs Eve Dear Ethel:- We got a card from the children yesterday. They were in Dyer'sburg [Virginia] Monday nite. So suppose they reached Chrisman Tuesday. I do not know how soon they will get to your place but expect the middle of next week. We sure do miss them and hug Bemrly hard for us both. I wonder if you are having it hot there. Temp 98 here. Love and best wishes from us both Lovingly Eva [along the top left edge] Friday--just recieved word from Oryssa that Herba wife and astrope Uncle well as [along bottom edge] and will isn't at all well. [sic]
