This post features a black and white image of the Illinois Central Depot, Brookhaven, Mississippi, a long, one story building and platform in front of the railroad tracks. Two men are standing on the platform. The title of the card is printed in red along the upper left of the image. The back of the card is addressed to Miss Isla Reid in Waco, Texas. The card is postmarked Proctor, Texas, October 9, 1909 and a green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner. An inscription is written on the left half of the card. [see transcription field]

Dear Isla--How are you enjoying this nice cool Saturday? I've been cleaning house all day and it looks fairish since I've finished. Mother may have been spending her surplus energy quilting a quilt this wk. I've gadded as usual. I went to Dublin las Friday got a hat and it looks like a nest of black chickens powerful ugly. Yes I got over way Colict thanks to [?] curl. Guess we'll sure move to Coumbas this lot of Jan. Write soon. Lovingly Harriet G. [sic]
