Description

This black and white postcard features a photograph of a building at Whitworth [Female] College in Brookhaven, Mississippi. The three story building bares Spanish Colonial influence with a square, column lined porch at the entrance and an arched window above the attached balcony and an arched facade in center of the roof elevation. Small trees line the front of the building and two threes frame the building. The title of the card is printed in a text box in the lower left corner. The back of the postcard is postmarked Durant, Mississippi, May 1, 1942 and a green, Statue of Liberty postage stamp is in the upper right corner. A note is written to Myrtis (Mrs. W. E. Aaron from Gertrude.

Dear Myrtis, I enjoyhed your letter immensely. You must write again. We are just back from Brookhaven where we enjoyed a fine meeting. Outside of the colds Mary Gayle and I have we are all well. I see by the papes that you are all doing great things for the parsonage. I hope you get a pastor in it soon. Love, Gertrude S.
