Description

This black and white photograph features the engine and a line of train cars on the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Railroad stopped in Vicksburg, Mississippi. The train engineer or conductor is standing at the opening to the cab of the locomotive. A man in a dark suit and bowler hat is standing int the ditch to the right of the train with one hand raised as he looks toward the train. Utility poles are to the right of the train and the gable of a house can be seen to the left behind the train. The back of the photograph contains a form stating the railroad to by Y and MV, the number of the train car to be 44, the location of the photo being Vicksburg, Mississippi and the date being July 4, 1888.
