Description
This postcard features a color image of two women observing the Mississippi River flood control model at the Waterways Experiment Station, Corps of Engineers, U. S. Army, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. One woman is wearing a bright red dress and the other woman is wearing a black dress. A blue car is pictured parked on the street near the model and a small white structure is to the left behind the model. The back of the card includes the following information: "Waterway Experiment Station, Corps of Engineers, U. S. Army, Vicksburg, Mississippi...Showing a section of the Mississippi River flood control model. This view shows a part of the Morganza and Atchafalaya floodway which diverts a large portion of the Mississippi River flood waters through the Atchafalaya Basin.
