Description
This postcard features a color image of two women and one man observing the Mississippi River flood control model at the Waterways Experiment Station, Corps of Engineers, U. S. Army, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. One woman is wearing a bright red dress and the other woman is wearing a black dress. The man is wearing a white shirt and gray pants. A line of white structures is pictured behind the model. Signs for "Grants Canal" and "Delta, LA "are shown within the model. The back of the card includes the following information: "Waterway Experiment Station, Corps of Engineers, U. S. Army, Vicksburg, Mississippi...Showing a portion of the Mississippi River scale model used for flood control purposes. Open daily to the public Monday through Friday, with free guided tours at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m."
