Description
This postcard features a black and white portrait of a woman in profile, identified as Cleo beneath the portrait. She is wearing a white dress and has her hair pinned up. "Published Expressly for Jos. Sarphie,Woodville, Miss." is printed below the image. The back of the card is addressed to Miss Clara Boon in Centerville, Mississippi. The card is postmarked Woodville, Mississippi, August 23, 1916 and a green, one cent Benjamin Franklin postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner. An inscription is written sideways on the left half of the card. [see transcription]

Dear D A Arn’t you never going to write to me any more? Remember you owe me a letter. How is this warm weather serving you? And Garv is _ _? Have you heard form J. since J left? How is your mama? I will write you a letter in about 3 weeks but don't wait for me to write "Dearie" [?] is not so well this morning give my love to all fondly M. J. [sic]
