Description

This color postcard features a naval cruiser on the open water set against a vibrant orange sky. There are four funnels/stacks in the center of the ship and three of them are emitting dark smoke. A United States flag flies on the stern. A double United States flag with an eagle bearing a diamond shaped U. S. flag on it's chest appears in the upper left corner of the image. The title in the lower left reads "U. S. Armored Cruiser Colorado." The back of the postcard identifies the item as a postcard and provides indication for correspondence and address placement. A green one cent postage stamp is placed in the upper right corner and the card is postmarked, though the postmark year, 1910, is the only visible part. The card is inscribed and is addressed to Miss Myrtle Jefferson in Woodbine, Iowa.
