Description
William Alexander Love's manuscript history which he titled Autobiographical Sketch and Narrative Help's in Mississippi History. This history written in longhand by Love W.A. Love joined the Prairie Guards of the state militia when it was formed in the 1870s and retired with the rank of brigadier-general in the Mississippi National Guard in 1906. Crayon portraits, where a photograph is enhanced with charcoal and pastel, were popular in the latter part of the nineteenth century. 1925 is an attempt to tell Mississippi's history from the appearance of the Native Americans through to the early twentieth century with his own family's story woven in.
