Rev. James A. Lyon handwrote this 250 page journal, the fourth volume of his private journals, encompensing the years 1861-1870. The journal covers his time as a pastor in Columbus, Mississippi and moderator of the Presbyterian Church of the Confederate States of America. The end of each year includes a retrospective of the year.
