Description

This black and white photograph shows a view of the large Christmas tree displayed in the rotunda of the Old Capitol building in Jackson, Mississippi. The caption typed beneath the image reads "The giant Christmas tree in the rotunda is the centerpiece of "Christmas at the Old Capitol," December 9-31. Twenty-five -feet high, the tree is decorated with pomanders and bows and surrounded with antique toys from the museum collection. "Christmas at the Old Capitol" also features four period trees, a train display, a silhouettes exhibit, and special events, such as Christmas concerts, films, and craft demonstrations."
