Description

This black and white photograph shows a view of the buildings and storefronts on Capitol Street in Jackson Mississippi, as seen from the State Street intersection. Some of the storefronts in view are Kress, Remington's, The Emporium, Century Electric Co., and Hemphill Coco-Cola Drugs. The Hotel Edwards is seen on the left side at the far end of the street. Early to mid-twentieth century cars are seen parked and driving on the street and people can be seen on the sidewalks as well as crossing the street. Trees, streetlights, and utility poles are also visible in the image.
