In this letter, dated February 17, 1948, William D. McCain, director of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History writes to Eunice J. Stockwell to ask for her assistance in procuring the Mrs. Jayne papers from Mrs. Watson. He expresses his willingness to travel to Greenville to assess the papers. The letter is typed on Department of Archives and History, State of Mississippi letterhead.
