This collection includes articles and images from the Reflector, Mississippi State University’s student newspaper. This collection ranges from 1965-1975 and represents the first ten years after integration at MSU. The collection includes articles highlighting MSU Black student organizations, efforts to recruit students and faculty of color, MSU’s first Black student athletes, and notable speakers on campus.

This article details a Harlem Globetrotters performance at the Mississippi State University Gym wherein the Globetrotters won against the New York Nationals. The article describes some of the performance and includes a photograph of Bob "Showboat" Hall. The caption of the photograph describes Hall as "pivot man and star for the Harlem Globetrotters, and explains that he was unable to play in the game on campus due to a hand injury.

This article profiles a musically talented Black female student named, Priscilla Dean. The article describes her singing voice as "powerful, husky…along the line of Mahalia Jackson's" and notes that she was a top ten contestant in the recent Miss MSU pageant. When encouraged to pursue a career in singing, Dean responded that she couldn't depend on it and intends to pursue a career in corporate law instead, though she did state that she intended to spend the summer near Motown Records in Memphis to "put into trying to get started singing only as much as it's given [her] so far."
