Artifacts
The Frank and Virginia Williams Collection of Lincolniana consists of approximately 12,000 artifacts, statuary, prints, paintings, broadsides, ephemera, photographs, philately, collectibles/miniatures, and numismatics. Materials are housed in 20 map case drawers, 30 cartons, and a variety of loose statuary, prints, and paintings. The collection also includes nearly 100 original manuscripts and the Claude Simmons collection which consists of approximately 12 bankers boxes of Lincoln related materials and scrapbooks. There are also approximately 15,000 books, journals, and pamphlets separated into two collections: the Lincoln Book Collection and the Civil War/Collateral Book Collection.

Piece of Chestnut Fence Rail
The object is a small piece of wood that was once a part of a chestnut fence rail that was carried by Henry R. Hall in a Wide Awakes torchlight procession during Abraham Lincoln's 1860 campaign in Cairo, Illinois. The wood piece is attached to a sheet of paper that also bears two other pieces of paper containing provenance information. The first is signed by E. K. [Banks?] and the second is signed by R. Gerald McMurtry.

Reduced Facsimile of the Letter Accompanying the French Medal
The facsimile depicts a letter written by French citizens to Mary Todd Lincoln on 15 October 1866. It is written in French and is signed by twenty "distinguished citizens," including Victor Hugo. The letter depicted in the facsimile accompanied a gold medal presented to Mary Todd Lincoln. This medal is commonly known as the French-Swiss medal (funded and gifted by 40,000 French citizens, struck in Switzerland) and was a gift made in honor of the Martyred President.

Shard from Hanchett Block Tin Ceiling
The items is a shard of tin that was pulled from the ceiling of Hanchett Block, a building located in Beloit, Wisconsin. On 1 October 1859, Abraham Lincoln addressed a partisan group on the third floor of this building. The item was a gift to Frank J. Williams from Harold Holzer. Included with the item is a letter to Williams describing the item's provenance. Holzer procured the item while appearing at the Lincoln Fellowship of Wisconsin Meeting in Beloit, Wisconsin on 23 October 2004. The letter is presumably dated 11 April 2005.

This a newspaper and periodical collection which spans from the 1920s through the 1960s. The bulk of the artifacts cover the period between 1935 and 1954.
