Artifacts
The Frank and Virginia Williams Collection of Lincolniana consists of approximately 12,000 artifacts, statuary, prints, paintings, broadsides, ephemera, photographs, philately, collectibles/miniatures, and numismatics. Materials are housed in 20 map case drawers, 30 cartons, and a variety of loose statuary, prints, and paintings. The collection also includes nearly 100 original manuscripts and the Claude Simmons collection which consists of approximately 12 bankers boxes of Lincoln related materials and scrapbooks. There are also approximately 15,000 books, journals, and pamphlets separated into two collections: the Lincoln Book Collection and the Civil War/Collateral Book Collection.

The engraving is restrike or reproduction of an 1866 engraved portrait of Abraham Lincoln (Ref: H/B/N - fig. 102). Marshall, after Lincoln's death in 1865, painted a portrait of the President that was used as the basis for the engraving. In the portrait, Lincoln wears a black coat and tie. His portrait is depicted in hues of black and white and is surrounded by an oval floral border, which is further surrounded by a decorative rectangular frame.

His blue coat is faced and lined with red, and has yellow buttons and wings piped with red-the coat worn by artillery noncoms. On his left shoulder he wears the small epaulette ordered for cadets. On the right is an engineer private in the blue coat with black velvet collar and cuffs and false yellow buttonholes on the collar, cuffs, and breast adopted for the enlisted men of that Corps in 1803.n the background enlisted infantrymen are working clad in the ""coarse linen frock and fatigue trousers"" allowed by Congress as a part of the annual clothing allowance in March 1802.
