Description
This color illustration is of Abraham Lincoln in a dark suit, seated in front of a desk with an apple in one hand and a small knife in the other. A four shelf bookcase behind the desk is full of papers and the top of the desk is cluttered with papers. The rug on the floor is red and black floral patterned and a tall set of windows are to the right behind him. The painter's name is listed on the bottom left, "Illustrated for 'Lincoln's Last Day'" is on the bottom right, and Lincoln's name is captioned at the bottom of the page. The illustration is within volume three of Abraham Lincoln : A History by John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
