Description

1- The events seem to be changing by the hour in the Soviet Union, but as this program is being taped, it appears that country is moving more and more toward democratic reform and freedom. What are your impressions of the developments?; 2- In May of this year, you delivered the commencement address at Mississippi State and at that time you expressed concerns that the Soviet hard-liners and the military leadership might try to overthrow Mr. Gorbachev. If the coup had succeeded, what would that have meant for U.S. military spending?; 3- Some people have called for direct aid to the Soviet Union and others have said we should be more cautious until things settle down and we can determine what kind of assistance will help and what will now. Is it in our best interests to help?
