Open Access Policy

JPHDS is a fully open-access journal, meaning that all works published in the journal are freely available to read, download, copy, print, and share/transmit.

Peer Review Policy

JPHDS uses a double-blinded peer review process. Manuscripts (with the exception of commentaries or editorial pieces) are evaluated by independent reviewers with relevant expertise. Reviewers assess manuscripts for relevance to public health in the Deep South, scientific rigor, clarity of presentation, and contribution to the field. This peer review form is intended as a guide; detailed responses to every section are not required. We ask reviewers to provide constructive, specific feedback that will help authors strengthen their work. Review decisions include accept, minor revisions, major revisions, or reject.

Publication Agreement

JPHDS requires that all authors sign a publication agreement prior to online publication of an accepted manuscript.
