Description

Bill of sale for two young men, Cyrus and Tom, and fourteen-year-old Hannah, sold by F. M. Jones of Bedford County, Tennessee, to Dempsey P. Jackson.

Transcription

Know all men by these presents that I, F. M. Jones of the County of Bedford & State of Tennessee Have sold to L. P. Jackson two negro boys Cyrus & Tom aged from twenty to three years, also a negro girl named Hannah aged about fourteen, for and in consideration of the sum of twenty three hundred and fifty dollars to me in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged the above said negroes Tom, Cyrus, and Hannah I do warrant slaves for life and do further warrant them sound both in body and mind and from all claims of every kind whatsoever given under my hands [[?]] the [[?]] of Natchez this fifth day of March Eighteen hundred and thirty five.
