Description
This handwritten letter, dated March 10, 1944, is written from W. N. (William Neill) Bogan, Jr. at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia to his sister, Kay Bogan in West Point, Mississippi. The letter expresses his frustration at being stuck at the training school waiting to see where he'll be shipped to and confesses that he sleeps through his classes as he finds them pointless now. The letter goes on to confess that he is pretty sure he will be sent with the infantry and begs her not to tell their parents of his suspicions. The letter is signed "Love, Son." The envelope is postmarked Lexington, Virginia, March 11, 1944 and the postage is designated as "free."
